ABOUT US
OUR STORY
Your Mind Your Money was created from lived experience — growing up in a community where money was tight, emotions ran high, and survival came before stability. I learned early that financial stress isn’t just about dollars — it weighs on your mind, your mood, and your future.
So we built something different.
We help young people before crisis hits by teaching them how to navigate both money and emotions with confidence. And when life is in crisis, our Kennedi Kares initiative steps in with food boxes, hygiene kits, clothing, college prep support, and more — because no one can plan for the future when they’re just trying to get through the week.
Some youth need skills. Some need support.
We provide both.
Because when young people feel secure — emotionally and financially — they don’t just survive. They grow, they lead, and they change what’s possible for the next generation.
MISSION & VISION
MISSION STATEMENT: Your Mind Your Money equips adolescents and young adults with both the immediate support and long-term skills they need to break cycles of financial and emotional struggle. Through survival-based resources, mental wellness education, and real-life money tools, we meet youth where they are and help them build toward where they want to be.
VISION STATEMENT: A future where no young person has to choose between survival and growth — because they have access to the resources, mindset, and support needed to thrive.
MEET THE FOUNDER

Hi, I’m Ronda Jackson—founder of Your Mind Your Money. I’m a Certified Financial Social Work Counselor, Trauma of Money Practitioner, and a graduate student in Clinical Mental Health Counseling — but more importantly, I’m someone who has lived the very experiences I now help others heal from.
I was raised in Detroit in a family where money stress and mental health challenges were part of everyday life. I know what it feels like to carry the pressure of survival while trying to find peace. And I also know how life-changing it is when someone meets you without judgment and says, “I get it — let’s get through it together.”
That’s why I started this work.
Your Mind Your Money is more than a program — it’s a space for real support, real tools, and real conversations about how money and emotions collide. I don’t lead from perfection — I lead from experience. I’m still learning, healing, and growing right alongside the community I serve.
This is not just about finances. It’s about freedom. And we’re getting there together.
