OUR STORY
Sometimes the hardest part of getting help is simply knowing where to start. Even when resources are available, finding the right one can feel overwhelming. Embarrassment, pride, fear of judgment, or simply not knowing where to turn can make asking for help even harder.
Your Mind Your Money is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization created to make finding support a little easier.
We connect Detroiters with mental health, financial wellness, community, and everyday support resources—giving people a place to start when they don't know where to go.
We bring our mission to life in three ways:
Community Resource Hub — We Connect.
Community Bank — We Engage.
Kennedi Kares — We Give.
Mind & Money — We Educate.
OUR MISSION & VISION
Mission: Your Mind Your Money exists to support individuals in Detroit who feel overwhelmed, stuck, and unsure where to begin by connecting the community to mental health, financial wellness, and everyday support resources so they don't have to navigate these challenges alone.
Vision: Your Mind Your Money envisions a future where individuals across Detroit feel supported, informed, and confident in navigating their mental health, finances, and everyday life.
THE HEART BEHIND YMYM
Ronda is a Detroit native, therapist, and community advocate with a master’s degree in counseling and additional training in Financial Social Work and Trauma of Money.
Her personal and professional experiences have shaped her understanding of how mental health, finances, and everyday life can intersect and how overwhelming it can feel when you need support but don't know where to turn.
She founded Your Mind Your Money with a simple belief: people shouldn't have to figure everything out alone. Through YMYM, Ronda hopes to make resources easier to find, strengthen connections within the community, and give Detroiter's a place to start when they don't know where to go.
For Ronda, this work is rooted in a passion for helping, healing, and community.
